Argon Plasma Coagulation
Available configurations integrate Argon-enhanced electrosurgical functionality.
Advanced Vessel Sealing System
COMBI MAX incorporates a vessel sealing system based on real-time tissue feedback and automatic power control.
Multiple controllers supervise tissue impedance and energy delivery to maintain consistent sealing performance. The system detects conditions such as:
- Sealing completed
- Instrument open
- Instrument short
- Regrasp / repeat sealing requirement
These conditions are displayed in real time with visual messages and audible alarms.
Vessel Sealing Features
According to the brochure, the vessel sealing system:
- Works with compatible sealing instruments in different sizes, including 5 mm and 10 mm
- Supports sealing of vessels up to 7 mm
- Offers 5 ligation levels
- Includes 2 fast ligation levels

Bipolar Saline TUR – Bi-TUR
COMBI MAX includes bipolar saline TUR functionality for suitable urological procedures.
The brochure describes the Bi-TUR system as generating plasma around the resection loop, enabling tissue cutting while the generated energy assists coagulation of capillary bleeding during resection.
Listed Bi-TUR Applications
- TUVP – Transurethral Vaporization of Prostate
- TURP – Transurethral Resection of Prostate
- TCRE – Transcervical Resection of the Endometrium
- TUBE – Transurethral Enucleation with Bipolar

Smart Tissue Monitoring Technology
COMBI MAX uses real-time tissue monitoring technology to monitor tissue impedance and dynamically regulate HF current and voltage.
According to the brochure, the system can make adjustments within microseconds based on the selected operating mode, helping achieve the desired electrosurgical tissue effect while reducing unintended power delivery.
Multiple Processors for RF Power Accuracy
Multiple microcontrollers supervise RF power delivery within the COMBI MAX platform.
This architecture is designed to dynamically control and maintain power levels as tissue impedance changes during electrosurgical procedures.
Smart Auto-Start Coagulation
The Auto-Start Coagulation function automatically activates energy when tissue presence is detected between suitable forceps or similar instruments.
This allows coagulation to begin without requiring conventional manual activation in supported modes.
Smart Auto-Stop Coagulation
COMBI MAX also incorporates Auto-Stop Coagulation.
The system monitors changes in tissue impedance and automatically stops HF delivery after the desired coagulation condition is detected. According to the brochure, this is intended to help minimize charring, sticking and unnecessary thermal spread.
HF Leakage Monitoring & Control
An active HF Leakage Monitor continuously supervises leakage current.
If leakage above the specified operating limit is detected, the microcontroller can stop HF energy delivery and generate an error message accompanied by an audible alarm.
Handswitch & Footswitch Short Detection
During startup self-testing, COMBI MAX scans connected handswitches and footswitches.
If a switch is detected in an activated or shorted condition during self-test, the system provides an error message and audible alarm to help prevent unintended HF activation.
199+1 Programmable User Profiles
COMBI MAX allows surgeons to store and recall up to 199+1 programmable profiles.
Stored preferences can include parameters such as:
- Power settings
- Operating modes
- Timeout limits
- Footswitch settings
- Key tones
- Activation tones
- Volume settings
The brochure also describes restoration of the last activated settings, providing practically 200 stored profiles/configurations.
Touchscreen Auto-Lock
For additional operational safety, the touchscreen can automatically lock after a predefined period of inactivity.
This helps prevent unintended changes to power levels or other settings from accidental touchscreen contact.
Individual RF Port ON/OFF Control
Individual RF output ports can be enabled or disabled according to the procedure.
Disabling unused ports helps reduce the possibility of accidental RF activation during surgery.
Patient Plate Contact Quality Monitoring – PPCM
COMBI MAX features Patient Plate Contact Quality Monitoring (PPCM).
With a split-type dual-pad patient plate, contact quality can be monitored in real time. If patient contact is reduced, the system can stop HF delivery and provide an error message with an audible alarm.
The brochure also recommends using the split-type patient plate with adaptive monitoring for enhanced patient safety.
ENDO CUT
COMBI MAX provides a fractionated ENDO CUT mode using alternating cutting and coagulation cycles.
The brochure states that this functionality supports controlled cutting with haemostasis and provides 10 levels for adjusting cutting speed, depth and sharpness.
